MASTODON

Do you like it when your pay arrives? I know I do! I also love Mastodon to! When I bought the last LP of theirs 'Crack the Skye' I was told that the limited edition will contain a bonus 7", with a cover of ZZ Top's 'Just Got Paid' and another track. I was bitterly disappointed when the album arrived in the post to find no 7" and that the label didn't get to making the 7" due to some problems. That sucks!

So, here is the awesome Mastodon version of 'Just Got Paid' right here and speaking of ZZ Top, they are touring here in April 2011. I like ZZ Top!!

I met Mastodon a few years ago, very nice guys they were. They even signed my copy of Today Is The Day record, which 3 of the members were in before Mastodon!! This band is totally awesome, inventive, amazing players and I love how they share the vocal duties around the members. I think it's odd they claim they are not a metal band, I cannot agree on that, really. Anyhow, get some Mastodon into your collection as soon as you physically get the chance and go and get paid $!

Wreck your necks! Sit up and check this out. Over Kill. What a great band. If you want to hear your metal at crushing volume, wanna hear spit in your face attitude, and a catalogue of brutal songs you can only dream of possessing, then ya gotta love Over Kill.

I can’t force anyone to listen and consume this amazing, legendary band but I can try and try I shall do right here on the trendy tumblr pages of hate!!

They’ve been around for a quarter of a century and are still the thrash titans. I started following them way back in 1988 when I was a tiny little munchkin. I’ve been lucky enough to witness their utter amazingness live on stage 3 times in 3 countries around the world, Sydney 2010, Ballendstat - Germany 2010 and Los Angeles 2008 and all three of those shows were among the best metal shows I ever seen!

So, don’t live in the past, Over Kill don’t, embrace it, but know this, they are still kicking it live and putting out blistering albums that will choke the crap out of you and I will continue to scan the earth for the rest of their records for as long as it takes, and I have a few to go to complete the collection. Thanks for reading, in the meantime, windmill away to Elimination video above as soon as you physically get the chance and WRECK THOSE NECKS!!

Black Cobra

Have you hear of Black Cobra? Now, I am just picking a random band from the collection and I will be playing some of the heavy awesomeness on the radio show next year.

Black Cobra, heavy, sludge, doom and plenty of low end. I really dig this band but I don't know a whole lot about them yet.
